2008
  • Trainor Glass Florida Division adds 40,000 square feet of production space, bringing total to 100,000 square feet of production. The expansion brings with it on-site testing chambers, compound miter saw, CNC and high efficiency glazing machines.
  • Roll out of NEW and IMPROVED version of Project Management On-Line to better service our customers.
  • Roll out of Human Resources On-Line to better service our employees, facilitates goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Relocated our Richmond, Virginia facility to an automated, hi-tech 100,000 square foot facility.
  • Opened our AutoCAD center in Michigan City, Indiana to provide drawings and engineering for our offices across the country. Supervised by Patrick Bussa, National Drafting Manager.
  • Tom Trainor promoted to President from CFO.
  • Bob Trainor remains CEO.
2007
  • "World Class Training" for each and every one of our 500+ team members. 40 hours minimum training, and passing all associated quizzes, for every plant, field and office person. We continue to learn and grow so we can provide the best possible service to our customers.
  • Formation of a new operating division in Illinois, known as Illinois Engineered Wall Division, focusing on unitized and preglazed wall projects, to better service the increasing trend towards unitization and preglazing of curtainwalls in Illinois and the surrounding states. Division Manager as of December 2007 is Blake O’Halloran. Taking over as Division Manager for the Illinois Division, focusing on tenant interiors and lobby renovations, is Paul Rowan.
  • In May, due to the relocation of our sister company Doralco, Illinois Engineered Wall Division acquired an additional 40,000 square feet, now totaling 80,000 square feet.
  • Opened an office near Baltimore, Maryland with a 3,200 square foot plant, to better service our Maryland and Washington, D.C. markets. Division Manager is Dan Trainor.
  • Opened an office near Austin, Texas with an 11,300 square foot plant, to better service our projects in that area. Division Manager is Steven Russell.
  • Opened a satellite office in Forney, Texas to create and facilitate designs of systems for all major projects Nationally, led by Don Earnheart.
  • Ed Trainor, Executive Vice President, moved to National Purchasing role from role of Division Manager of Illinois Engineered Wall Division.
  • On May 1, both Brian Clark (Division Manager Dallas, Texas) and Bill Trainor (Division Manager Denver, Colorado) were promoted from Vice President to Executive Vice President.
  • James Trainor became Chairman of the Board.
  • Total of 6 large, modern, automated, hi-tech unitized production facilities, with land for trucking logistics, including 4 other smaller production, distribution facilities, for a total of 550,000 square feet Nationally, to better service our customers.
  • Video conference capabilities set up at all of our facilities to increase the effectiveness of our communications with each other as well as our customers.
  • All of our locations are equipped with 4-digit direct dial extensions so we can quickly and easily reach one another.
  • Created a National Reception desk at our Headquarters in Alsip, Illinois to promptly route calls and better service our customers.
2006
  • In January, Trainor Glass formed an alliance business relationship with Sierra Glass & Mirror in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • Purchased and relocated our Dallas, Texas facility to a larger facility.
  • Purchased and renovated our Atlanta, Georgia facility.
  • Relocated our Denver, Colorado facility to a larger facility.
  • Acquired East Coast Glass operations in Richmond, Virginia and merged into Trainor Glass. 50,000 square foot automated unitized facility. Division Manager is Daryl Forrest.
  • Acquired satellite office in Charlotte, North Carolina as part of Richmond, Virginia deal.
  • Opened a satellite office in Lake St. Louis, Missouri to provide reviews of major bids on a national level.
2005
  • Division of Trainor Glass opens in Phoenix, Arizona. Division Manager is Paul Main.
  • In January, Brian Clark, Division Manager of our Dallas, Texas Division, became a Board Member.
  • Created our Company Intranet site, an excellent resource for all employees to access everything from general company information to detailed training manuals.
2004
Ed Trainor assumes position of Division Manager and Paul Rowan assumes position of Assistant Division Manager for our Illinois Division.

2003
  • Trainor Glass Company Celebrates 50 Years of Service! Thank you to all of our valued customers!
  • Relocated our New Jersey facility to South Kearny, NJ.
  • Trainor Glass ownership transition to Bob Trainor Jr., Tom Trainor, Ed Trainor and Bill Trainor.
2002
On May 1, Ed Trainor was promoted from Vice President to Executive Vice President.

2001
  • Division of Trainor Glass opens in Dallas, Texas. Division Manager is Brian Clark.
  • Grand opening of our relocated Trainor Glass facility in Riviera Beach, Florida, to better service the entire state of Florida, focusing on our TCW 250 Impact Systems. Division Manager is Jerry Kern as of 2002.
2000
  • Grand opening of our relocated Trainor Glass facility in Alsip, Illinois.
  • Division of Trainor Glass opens in Denver, Colorado. Division Manager is Bill Trainor.
1999
Division of Trainor Glass opens in New Jersey / New York. Division Manager is Robert Lentes as of 2006.

1998
On April 22, Tom Trainor became Chief Financial Officer.

1997
Division of Trainor Glass opens in Atlanta, Georgia. Division Manager is Dennis Welch since 2005. Paul Main, current Division Manager of Phoenix, Arizona Division, was Division Manager from 1997-2005.

1995
Robert J. Trainor, Jr. became CEO. Robert J. Trainor, Sr. became Chairman of the Board.

Company growing, bought 8,000 square foot building at 11700 S. Cicero, Alsip, Illinois.

November 15, James Trainor started working for Trainor Glass.

1956
Built 5,000 square foot building at 10401 S. Kedzie. More commercial and industrial work, less residential.

1953
February 14, Trainor Glass Company founded by Robert J. Trainor Sr. Started out in a rented store at 10452 S. Kedzie Ave., Chicago, IL. Business was primarily residential applications.
